CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Excess volatility increases risk further. Be cautious. Past performance is not an indication of future results.

The route

Start here: learn everything reversible first — Sri Lanka

Most beginner routes are ordered by topic. This one is ordered by whether a mistake can be undone — which puts the permanent decisions last, where they belong.

Stage one: everything that resets — the order screen, the size field, the stop-loss, the leverage setting, the platform. All of it is practised on an account that freezes nothing. Stage two: the readings, so a cost stops being a surprise. Stage three: the creation screen, read slowly, because that is the only place permanent choices are made. Stage four: a first funded ticket, deliberately small. No stage has a deadline and the first one has no cost.

Why order the learning this way

Because it puts every expensive lesson behind a cheap one. Topics can be read in any sequence, and none of them charges for being read out of turn. Settings cannot: a leverage figure left where someone else put it, or an account currency chosen in three seconds, both cost money later and cost nothing to get right now.

The four stages

Each stage names what it covers, what an error there costs, and the written test that closes it.

  1. The reversible controls

Size, stop-loss, leverage, platform, security settings. All of them are practised on an account issued against an email and a password, with virtual money, no documents and no time limit — so an error costs nothing at all.

Test: the leverage setting has been opened and set on purpose, and ten tickets in a row carried a stop set before the confirm button. The account that freezes nothing

  2. The readings

Spread, running profit and loss, swap. These are reported rather than chosen, which makes them a different skill: recognising them, not deciding them. Runs alongside stage one on the same account.

Test: you can say what a closed trade cost without opening a glossary. The ticket, sorted · The word list

  3. The creation screen

The account type with its cost model and size floor, and the currency the account will hold. Both are settled at creation and neither is edited afterwards. Reading this screen carefully is the highest-value ten minutes on the whole route.

Test: you can state, without looking, what your intended type freezes and what it leaves alone. What the type freezes · The form, field by field

  4. The first funded ticket

Same six fields, same order, deliberately small. What is new is only that the readings now subtract something real — which is the one thing stage one could not rehearse.

Test: there is none. This stage does not close; it just repeats with a written line each time. The switches that keep it small

What each stage costs to get wrong

Stage A mistake here costs Undone by
Reversible controls Nothing Changing the setting, or resetting the practice balance
The readings Nothing — they are read, not set Reading them again
The creation screen Nothing directly, but the choices stay Opening another account alongside the first
The first funded ticket Whatever the size and stop allowed Nothing — this is the stage that does not reset

The bottom row is why the other three come first. Everything above it can be repeated until it is boring, and boredom is the correct state in which to reach the row that charges.

Three ways the order gets broken

  • Stage three is skimmed because stage one went well. Practice results say nothing about a creation screen — it asks for decisions, not for skill, and it asks once.
  • A setting is left at whatever value it arrived with. Leverage in particular. Nobody sets it high on purpose, and that is precisely how it ends up high.
  • The figure to fund with is decided while looking at a minimum. A minimum belongs to an account type; a figure you can lose entirely belongs to your household. Write yours first, then read theirs.

Deciding trading is not for you is a legitimate way to end the route, and on stage one that conclusion costs nothing to reach. The rest of the shortcuts are collected in beginner mistakes.

How long it takes

Weeks at the least, and often longer. Stage one has no clock on it, which is the practical benefit of ordering by reversibility: every hour spent there is an hour where being wrong is free, and no page can say how many of those hours anyone needs.

What can be checked is whether the written tests above have been passed. If any is still open, the next stage simply waits. Support is available 24/7 for questions about the accounts themselves, and the basics can be asked here.

Questions about the route

Can stage three be reached without stage one?

Nothing prevents it. What follows is reading a creation screen without knowing which of its fields matter, which is how the currency line gets skimmed and the type gets chosen on the strength of its name.

Does the route need a new account at each stage?

Stages one and two run on the same practice account. Stage three creates a funded one alongside it; the practice account stays open, since a login carries a large number of accounts at once.

What if the amount available is very small?

Then stage three has a specific answer: the arrangement that counts the balance in cents lets a small figure still obey a small risk per trade. Standard sets no minimum deposit either, so a small figure is not blocked — it is just larger relative to the size floor.

Is going back a stage a failure?

No, and it is common. The practice account stays available specifically so a routine can be rebuilt without paying for the rebuilding.
